The G-spot is a term most often associated with an erogenous spot that occurs in females. Sometimes you also hear this term when used describing the original of sexual pleasure for men.
The G-spot (a.k.a. Gräfenberg spot) is used to refer to the highly erogenous zone that is present in front of the vagina and above the urethra. It sits behind the pubic bone of the pelvic area, and is considered to be a zone as equally equated with sexual pleasure as is the prostate gland in men.
This part of the reproductive zone of a woman’s body is what seems to provide the most powerful orgasms in a woman-more so than the clitoris itself. This is a spot on the woman’s body that is often associating with female ejaculation, otherwise known as “squirting.”
This concept regarding female ejaculation and the G-spot was first widely publicized in the early 1980s. This was quite some time after German gynecologist Ernst Gräfenberg made mention of this “discovery” in the 1950s.
This is a very highly controversial issue as some believe that this powerful erogenous zone does not exist. Even if it does exist, many medical professionals such as Gynecologists or sex therapists do not believe it is directly associated with sexual arousal or orgasm.
However, various observations were made over the years to prove that it is a given fact that this area of a woman’s body does indeed give more pleasure than other spots. For instance, it was learned that some women who experience vaginal orgasm are likely to experience thickening of tissue in the anterior vaginal wall.
This vaginal wall expansion is partly a result of sexual arousal itself. Whether this actually causes greater sexual arousal or satisfaction is highly debated. However many professionals and non-professionals believe this is the case. At the very least, hearing of the supposed “Gräfenberg” zone it might increase sexual confidence in general, in both men and women.
That is why particular attention is shown more to this portion of the body along with explanations of the clitoris. Of course, another reason why the G-spot is being studied further is because it is an area of the body that experiences great friction as a penis is inserted.
Maneuvering between partners to hit this spot on a female just right is the new challenge. It is one that may possibly result in multiple orgasms more so than just when the clitoris is aroused and played with.
Knowing this is meant to help women experience greater sexual pleasure they thought could only come from clitoral stimulation. In fact, when it comes to sex this is why some women prefer intercourse over oral pleasure, which is contrary to popular belief.
Knowing this, if a partner knows more about the gspot it may help the person to learn how to please the woman even more than in the past.
Speaking of a which, sometimes this term is referred to a specific point a male body that causes great sexual arousal-the prostate gland. This male “G-spot” is considered to bring him just as much pleasure as the woman’s most precious erogenous zone.
