Ways to Prevent Stretch Marks

Stretch marks occur when the skin expands beyond its limits of elasticity. It can appear on anyone’s body. Whenever there a sudden weight increase, be it due to body building, pregnancy or the change that takes place in the body during puberty, the stretch marks appear.

It is mainly due to restricted production of collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis. To avoid yourself from developing these ugly looking or embarrassing stretch marks, you can take the following preventive measures.

Drink lots of water as the stretch marks are usually more prominent in the people with dry skin. It is therefore important to hydrate your skin properly a number of times so as to make up for the dryness.

Increase the intake of foods that are rich in vitamin C, E and A. these vitamins help in rejuvenation and regeneration of skin.
Follow an exercise routine strictly. It enhances collagen and elastin formation in the body.
